Glen is organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Charlotte Campbell ยท Canton, GA

Hi, I'm Glen. I'm raising money to help my mom and stepdad, Charlotte and Brian Campbell, of Canton, Georgia. Brian has spent over 40 years in health care. He has devoted his professional and personal life to helping others. He is our anchor and one of the kindest, most caring people I know. Asking for help is so difficult for them, which is why I'm asking on their behalf.

What Brian lives with. Brian has type 1 diabetes. Over the years, it has caused neuropathy (nerve damage) and gradually has taken his sight. His vision has faded over the last five years, and he has been legally blind for the last two years. He has also lived with a heart condition for years. Over the last two years, it has made it increasingly difficult for him to stay on his feet.

Brian has never stopped trying. He gave it everything he had to keep working, taking Uber to work and using a cane to get around, despite dozens of falls. But for the last two years, he hasn't been able to work and has had no income.

Then he broke his hip. A couple of months ago, Brian fell and broke his hip. After an eight-hour hip replacement surgery, a week in the hospital followed by two weeks of inpatient rehabilitation, he still has months of outpatient rehabilitation ahead. All of this has been grueling. Brian continues to struggle with a heart condition. He works with his heart doctors to resolve ongoing blood pressure issues causing dizziness, falls, and passing out. He uses a walker and needs around-the-clock care, which Mom provides every day. He can no longer work, travel, or use a computer, so he can't reach out to the friends and colleagues he has made over the years. We're doing that for him.

At the same time. While all of this was happening, their heating and air conditioning system malfunctioned and is only partially working and needs to be repaired or replaced immediately. Recently, their water heater failed, flooding the basement. They are heading into winter in a very vulnerable state. After two years without Brian's income, and with their savings depleted, this will also enable them to sell their home, downsize and lower their expenses.

Where your gift goes

  • Replace their heating and air conditioning system
  • Replace the water heater and repair the flooded basement
  • Help with Brian's medical and recovery costs
  • Help cover everyday bills while Brian can't work

My Mom put it best: "After exhausting all of our resources, we are asking for your help. Through all of this, Brian remains a loving husband, father and grandfather, and still the most positive person I know."

If you can give, thank you. If you can't, sharing this page means just as much. Any help you can give them now would mean the world to our family.

With love and gratitude, Glen, on behalf of Charlotte and Brian

God bless.
